Jawline Contouring

In the past, cosmetic enhancements to Jawline Contouring involved surgical procedures with a degree of discomfort and downtime afterward. Today, innovations in cosmetic treatments have allowed doctors to perform effective jaw shaping without incisions or recovery periods. Injectable treatments, such as Juvederm and Botox, can create dramatic results on the jawline, giving you a more youthful facial profile. Dr. Suzanne Mady offers a variety of jaw shaping options to allow patients plenty of choice in altering the contour of their lower face.

Who is it For?
Jaw contouring/shaping can address the following aesthetic concerns:

A square jawline that gives the impression of added weight
A rounded jawline that lacks good definition
Lost volume along the jawline that creates an aged appearance
Enlarged masseter muscle causing a squaring of the jawline
Jaw shaping can be performed alone or in combination with other cosmetic procedures to enhance results. Common choices include injectable fillers like Juvederm and neuromodulators like Botox to restore volume and decrease the size of enlarged muscles.

How does it Work?
There are two options for jaw shaping using injectable treatments:

Juvederm facial fillers can be used to restore lost volume to the jawline to create a rounder more youthful lower facial contour

Neuromodulators (Botox) can be used to relax and reduce jaw muscles in the lower face and neck, resulting in a more defined jawline and a more attractive heart shape to the face

Once the injections are completed, patients are able to return to regular activities right away.

What are Results Like?
Results of jaw reshaping may begin to appear right away and continue to improve in the days following the procedure. Patients may experience mild discomfort, swelling and bruising, which typically subsides within a day or two. Results of jaw reshaping may last for many months before a touch-up treatment is required.
